Combined Science
Combined Science is a course that combines the content of 3 separate sciences, which is designed to be accessible to all students. Students will learn both theory and practical skills within this course. Each subject will go through a range of topics including;
Biology: cells, human body systems, bioenergetics, Ecology and inheritance
Chemistry: Atomic structure & periodic table, bonding, separating mixtures, metals, Reactions of acids, Rate of reaction and Impact on the Earth and environment
Physics: Energy, Forces, nuclear radiation, Electricity, Magnetism and waves.
Entry Level
All students are given the chance to complete the entry-level certificate in science (AQA). It is taught alongside the combined science across years 10 and 11.
Exams
Combined Science assesses students on all three sciences: Biology, Chemistry and Physics, but will amount to 2 combined grades, rather than 3 separate grades.
